Welcome to Flat Stanley's Travels with Grammy & Grampi

Flat Stanley, the beginning   Flat Stanley started his travels in Fredericksburg, Viginia at the Fredericksburg Christian School, where grandson, Forrest, sent him by US Mail to join Grammy & Grampi M. on their Florida travels.

Florida Travel

Arrival in Sebastian  Flat Stanley arrived safely in Sebastian, Florida and started his adventures in learning about Florida and its southern climate. Grammy holds up Flat Stanley after he came out of the manila envelope shown in her other hand. She also has the letter telling Grammy and Grampi about Flat Stanley and that he wants to learn about the places he visits.

Flat Stanley's new friend, Hugs

Grammy and Grampi wanted Flat Stanley to have some company on his travels. They gave him a Florida "Hot Dog" (dachshund) named Hugs to be his traveling friend. Grampi's sister, Annie, has a dachshund named Schnappsie and Schnappsie has her own web page all about dachsunds.

Hugs is a Florida dog because he likes bright colors and wears sunglasses to protect his eyes from the sun. If you look at his photo (and Grammy's photo) you will see some palm trees, something special about Florida.

A Painted Rainbow

Grammy and Grampi were staying in Sebastian with Grampi's sister Annie. She lives on a little lake with ducks that swim on the lake and come to visit the bank in back of the house. Beautiful sunsets set across the lake.

See the rainbow in the picture at the left as well as the reflection of the rainbow in the lake.

Bougainvillea

Sebastian sits in the middle of Florida, along its eastern shore on the Atlantic Ocean, This part of Florida is the beginning of the area that seldom gets frost. Flowers will bloom on bushes even in the winter. The citrus trees will grow oranges and grapefruit,
