Sebastian is a city on the Atlantic Ocean coast of Florida. It is located on the Indian River in Indian River County , which is famous for its grapefruit. The Indian River is part of the Atlantic Intercoastal Waterway which allows boats to travel north and south along the eastern coast of the United States without being out in the Atlantic Ocean.

  • In 2004, more than 18,500 people lived in Sebastian. (Note 1)
  • Sebastian area is home to Pelican Island, one of the first national bird refuges. Sebastian resident Paul Kroegel helped get it started in 1903.
